When Shelley Russell, Level II CHZT, Certified Heart Zones Trainer, was asked to try out the Heart Zones System, she jumped at the chance. She started out as just a tester for the system, but she loved it so much, she purchased it for her own use as a personal trainer and indoor cycling instructor. We admire the great lengths she goes to to get her students the best results. Read more about her experience with the Heart Zones Zones below.

A: Sally Edwards, Heart Zones Founder and CEO, asked me to be a tester of the Heart Zones System. Once I learned the system, I purchased it for my own use as a personal trainer and indoor cycling instructor.
A: It’s an intelligent system. It allows me to use my skill as a Level II CHZT, Certified Heart Zones Trainer. I customize heart rate zones so my clients can get the most out of their workouts.
A: The ability to customize individual heart rate zones to display along with nicknames and emojis. Fit points, stars and the emailed reports also serve to motivate members to challenge themselves during their workouts.
A: Improvements in their health and fitness levels.
A: My indoor cycling classes are typically full and people love seeing their heart rates displayed and receiving the emailed reports after class.
A: It sets me apart as a personal trainer because I can teach people how to train efficiently to achieve maximum benefits.
A: It’s an intelligent software. Competitors use a simple formula to establish heart rate zones. I customize my client’s zones and enter them into the Heart Zones PE App.

“Using Heart Zones not only has made the class environment fun and engaging, but it has created a feeling of community among members. We display nicknames as well as emojis and we all work to get into a certain heart rate zone together. The men particularly enjoy competing against one another to achieve the most time spent in the red zone. Having our heart rates displayed makes a class feel more personal. People care about each other’s wellbeing. Heart Zones takes me to a different level of coaching because I can see how my clients are doing from the inside as well as the outside. With one member, I discovered she needed to drink more water and that she was sensitive to caffeine because her heart rate was elevating immediately upon starting the ride. Additionally, I can tell if someone needs time off by knowing his or her heart rate zones.” – Shelley Russell, Level II CHZT, Certified Heart Zones Trainer
